Department of Agricultural and Applied Economics
Agricultural and Applied Economics applies economic methods to the use of natural resources as it pertains to the production, distribution, and consumption of agricultural goods and services. The undergraduate degree programs include Bachelor of Science in Agribusiness, Bachelor of Science in Agricultural and Applied Economics, and Dual Degrees - Bachelor of Science in Agricultural and Applied Economics and Bachelor of Business Administration in General Business. The graduate degree programs include Master of Science in Agricultural and Applied Economics, Master of Agribusiness and Doctor of Philosophy in Agricultural and Applied Economics. The major objective of the department is to teach students to think analytically and base decisions on economic principles. Students develop skills in economics, mathematics, statistics, and communication. Training in policy, price analysis, and marketing is also provided. Department of Agricultural Education and Communications
In addition to receiving a quality education, Texas Tech students are part of a family-like atmosphere and attend many classes together at the university. We offer two majors: Interdisciplinary Agriculture and Agricultural Communications. Students majoring in Interdisciplinary Agriculture for the bachelor’s degree may choose from two tracks: teacher certification or agricultural leadership. Agricultural Communications allows students to specialize in both mass communications and agriculture. Faculty members in the department use a student-centered approach to show students how to successfully function in today's fast-paced, technologically advanced job market. Faculty know their students and are available to help students with class projects, advising and job applications. Department of Animal and Food Sciences

Students majoring in animal science can choose from four areas of emphasis: animal business, production, science or meat science. We have some 22 active faculty engaged in teaching, research and service to help you expand your knowledge.
