Landscape Architecture
The Landscape Architecture program at the University of Kentucky provides a broadly based education combined with an intensive professional curriculum that fosters creative problem solving, critical thinking and aesthetic sensitivities associated with this design profession. Graduates must have an understanding of natural and social systems to plan, design and manage the natural and human environments that enhance the quality of life.
The five-year curriculum is structured to expose students to a variety of planning and design challenges which seek to develop analytical skills in the theoretical realm, as well as “real world” situations which require the development of concepts and solutions in a manner that can be communicated to others. While being qualified to attain an entry level position in the profession is a realistic expectation, the programs strive to prepare individual for life-long learning and leadership within the profession.
