Program Info: The Department of English announces a new selective-admission Undergraduate Creative Writing Track. Creative Writing Track will be indicated on the transcripts of those students who successfully complete the requirements. Admission to the Track is application based.

The University of Iowa English Department promotes serious and disciplined study of literature as an art form, as an expression of cultural preoccupations, and as a means of participating in civil society. In departments like ours, that value cultural, global, and aesthetic diversity, “literature” encompasses an ever growing array of texts in English and includes a wide range of genres and modes from drama, fiction, poetry, and creative nonfiction to video, graphic novels, and film to radio essays, new media, material culture, and performance art.
