Program Info: Today Georgia is the largest school of landscape architecture in the United States, with the largest and most complete landscape architectural faculty anywhere. Georgia provides landscape architectural education that is distinctively broad and adaptable to the interests of individual students.
The College of Environment and Design was formed in 2001 and is the first
new college at UGA since 1969. The college developed by making the School
of Environmental Design a major component of the new college. The college
plans on expanding its offerings beyond Landscape Architecture and Historic
Preservation in the not so distant future.
The college is slated to be one of the nation's leading centers for research, teaching and outreach on such environmental issues as species protection, preservation of natural resources, urban design and development, and global climate change.
